Lovely image captured here of what looks like a beautiful moment. I like how crisp and clear the white is on the feathers its nicely done with such a good backdrop as well. Good job

Thank you very much. These guys were a bit far for my lens, but it is still one of my favorites. It was such an interesting thing to get to see.

A 6 for composition and a 4 for technical. A 5 seems a fair middle ground. I know how frustrating it is to see something amazing like this and be too far away to get the clarity that you want. The positives are very positive...amazing moment you captured, perfect crop, nice soft background. The technical dings you know...lack of clarity...whites a bit overblown. All that being said, I'm glad you posted it even if it's not technically perfect. It is a joy to view the moment you captured and I'm glad you shared it.

I really do like this scene. I had the same trouble trying to get close enough to herons nesting in tall trees. I use Topaz denoise program to get the noise out. You will have to use a layer to get the results but it works very well. I have never seen many of these birds, especially this. I liked it!

Thank you! Sometimes it is such a bummer not get closer :) I don't have Topaz, the denoise sounds like a nice option.

Grace,
A CYBER Six star fort this wonderful picture of the Trumpeter Swans performing their mating ritual dance on the ice covered water beak to beak & wings embracing one another. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus where it matters. I'd be very happy with this shot.

once again, I can only repeat, you got an outstanding stop action of these swans beak to beak and chest to chest; focus not at all so bad; good exposure fo the snow

Thank you very much for the nice review Fred, I appreciate it. It was a fun thing to watch. Wish I could have gotten just a little closer, could have been spectacular :) Story of my life - lol!

Shall we dance? Nice and somewhat amusing shot of these swans)?) standing on ice. Maybe they are holding each other up ;-). Intrigued by the black legs and faces. Probably a different swan than I normally see. Light and whites are well controlled. Nice background. Focus feels soft. Nice shot.

I think this is a great photo! Yes, clarity would have added to that, but it's still awesome! I love the moment you were able to capture this! It's great! Thanks for sharing!

Would have thought it was too cold out there for romancing! Your fine, off-centre composition allows us an enjoyable look at their canoodling!! Sharpness and exposure are good. Well taken!

Cool,Grace!
Your photo of this pair of Swans makes for a fine illustration of
an aspect of the planet's Great Life Force in action,my friend!
I'm not so painfully serious about FAR to go around 'dinging' people for supposed technical inadequacies in the photos that they post here so I'm saying that this one makes for a very ;Good Show'! : )
