Before I saw your name I actually thought it was one of Sean's photos, and I am sure he will love this one. Rust is a curse, but it for sure looks great in a photo, and you have brought out so well the textures of it. This wreck of a car still has its charm, and it is standing out so well from the background.
Your photo is of course also nice and sharp showing clear and well defined details in the abandoned car, and the exposure is perfect.
The format and framing works well, and the car has got a fine placement in the picture. Indeed a great looking and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

I immediately knew where you meant when you mentioned "painted desert". I have been there twice. When my mom and I drove that old route 66 (as old as that car) from California to Arizona (and that 100 mile stretch of nothing in the Mojave Desert), then New Mexico, Texas and final destination of Oklahoma. And of course back again. I don't recall seeing any old dilapidated vehicles along the way. Was this purposely on display? The painted Desert had a small road side "museum" when I was there. I think there was the Petrified Forest around there too. Do you know any info about this car (an ancient version of a SUV)? I'm sure Sean will know date and make. This shot is very interesting and taken with much technical skill.

Your very detailed review and interesting comments are appreciated! Strechung back through the mists of time I do not recall this being a special display, but sorry I cannot be certain.

it looks really exposed and in some type of clearing, like some urban sculpture. really great, rustic detail. i'm sure sean will love this for sure.

Wouldn't that be a beauty to restore. I love vintage vehicles. Great shot that is well focused and lighting is good. Enjoyed viewing it. Thanks for sharing.

Classic! I love these old cars. They're kind of nostalgic and sad, having seen their glorious pasts. I love the tonality of the images with its shades of beige to brown. Very good focus and angle. Good presentation.

Love the color of iron oxide.
Great detail, and the story about how to store a vehicle without tires. The inner door looks like a face smiling at you. Well done.

Wow, that is an old one, and certainly one I'd like to see Sean draw! I've been to the Painted Desert and 4-Corners (and the Petrified Forest). Arizona is beautiful but a bit too hot for me. Great photo!

I have heard of this. I would love to here the story this old guy had to tell. I have never been to this part of the country but I have seen a lot of pictures from there. It was a pleasure to view.
