Well, my reaction to this isn't 'negative' - I like it. It is a combination of scary, strange, and weird. I see an old, gray haired man, possibly of African descent, with his hands resting on a cane held in front of him. The distortions imply a life of sadness. I enjoyed reading your notes on the process. I think it was worth all the effort!

Thank you. I really liked your comments. This was a nearly throw out. But I hung on and its been interesting all the comments and especially what people see in it. Your's not least. You are the 2nd to see a possible African person.

This is a very interesting, and hard won, portrait. What I see is a miss-mash of black and people--the conflict of races--and why can't we all just be and accept one and all. Very nice.

Love the effort and effect of your creation. You created a realistic negative impact.
Also I love the white light in the middle. I further notice of the work I seeing a likeness of Harriet Tubman.
From the hair to the illusion of the collar area where it appears to be some sort of clothing to the light.

That is a very good review you have given, thank you so much. Very interesting your comments and interpretation. I too could see woman undefined and also an African twist. I saw the light in the middle you refer to as the light of hope. I looked up Harriet Tubman, I had not heard of her and got so interested in her story I am going back to read some more. Yes I could see a likeness also.
