Great shot of this snake. It looks like it eats good. lol There is no neck, his body as fat as his head. I did not understand how you played with the photo, because I am behind the time. I am still at point and shot with my camera. lol I like how he turned out. Nice shot.

Hi Kelly, I felt so lucky to come across a snake that was facing in the right direction with nothing covering it. I always try to walk softly so whatever lies ahead I don't manage to scare off. Thank you so much for the "WOW! Factor" in your review! :o) Nancy

Your very welcome!

I love snakes, and this is an excellent image of a water snake,I have these in my ponds. The focus is spot on,love the eye contact, such a intense look in those bright well focused eyes. The scales are very well defined and the image is very well composed and presented, good vertical format, thanks for sharing this great image!

Hi Shadow, Knowing you love snakes and believing my image was worthy of a six in your eyes means a great deal to me. Thank you SO MUCH for the super six star review! :o) Nancy

These guys have remarkable designs to their scales. Still gives me the creeps a little! I would not want to be staring her down for long :) I can tell by her round pupils that she is not poisonous but I still wouldn't want to be too close. You did a great job getting her face to stand out. Your technique is impressive.

Hi Envision, I think it's interesting that you know this snake is not poisonous because of the eyes. I did not know that! I love the fact that this site teaches you something new every day. Thank you so much for the great review, it means a lot! :o) Nancy

I spent a lot of my childhood in Virginia where there were lots of snakes :)

A very nice shot. I like the eye contact and the great colors. Your digital technique really works well on the scales making them almost crystalline in appearance.

Hi Mike, I loved the eye contact too! It's not very often you come across a snake that's facing you so this was one of those Whoopee moments! I'm glad you liked the way I presented this, Thank you so much for the wonderful review! :o) Nancy

Well seen and nicely crafted. It does have a strong 3-d feel from the embossed process. Good focus on the eyes and head of the snake. Good light and shadow in the shot. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Galia, I'm not a big fan of snakes either but when a great opportunity crosses my path like this I can't ignore it! If the snake had been poisonous I probably would be running for the hills! LOL
A special thanks for reviewing this even though snakes are not your forte. I appreciate the review very much! :o) Nancy

Quite a dramatic looking nature shot presented here! Your fine, full and central composition grants us a good look at your fascinating snake. Love those scales(?). Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done!

The star of the snake is mesmerizing. It is easy for me to imagine that the pray cannot move. The photo is well composed. Those eyes seem to star at the viewer. The colors look realistic. The snake is in good focus. The details of the head and the scaled skin are well refined. The photo is also well framed and balanced.
