glad that you indicate that these are rocks: I thought they were beach umbrellas;
very dark Sunset capture: I think your monitor must be very bright; lol; despite the short horizon capture, it is obviously tilted to the right: maybe the rock on this side was too heavy; lol;

    Thanks a lot Fred. Good catch on the horizon.

This presentation has a strong initial impression due to the strong color blend and the shadow and light game of the different elements
nice view point through a portal of stones - it really looks like an abstract well defines and well composed - good frame - excellent contrast and lighting - perfect color saturation and exposure, the funny thing: I can perceive a rabbit sitting in the clouds like on the dark one looking like a stone dividing the picture into heaven and earth
interesting image

Very good eye....I like the zig zags and lines throughout this photograph. It really draws you in. The dark shadows and oranges make this a very nice photo. Thanks for sharing.

Nice low key lighting, fine natural framing with the two rocks, nice focus and nice glow of sun behind those dark clouds.
Nicely done Steve

This is a lovely sunset and I like the way you framed it with the rocks! The waves and the colors reflected in the water are especially beautiful. Great entry for the contest! Best of luck!

Ah, BFF, looks like the battle of the bulge! Which side will win? haha

Z marks the spot for Za great sunset. Your unique posture of the two zig zags is so crucial to bring out the excellent subdued sunset colors and your wonderful abstract piece.

Well done my BFF

    Wow BFF! You are simply too kind. Yes the zigzag pattern caught my eye and it turned out pretty well. I was half crouched and half laying down to get the POV. I got some pretty strange looks from the people walking along the beach ; ) Whatever they were thinking they were probably right.

    Thank you so much for your Wonderful review and Grand rating my BFF ~ BFF

that is a very good a vital concept. the nature of natural frames can be highly effective and making for a highly prized, visual sensation. loving the almost carpet texture on the sea.

It seems darker than it has to be. Though, it is a fantastic photo, especially using the rocks has a frame. You captured everything. Good luck.

    Thank you Kimmie. Yes I think you are right. It is a bit too dark. I need to make an adjustment. Good catch ~ Steve

The Zigzag's look abstract, but the clouds above too. It is as if there are three seascapes in that Zigzag which reflect on each other. The colors and the strong contradiction of light and dark are striking. The composition is balanced. The tall format framing is emphasizes the fall of light beautifully.

    Thank you so much Cleo. Yes I thought the angles of the rocks made a nice framing element and separated the scene into sections. Thank you again ~ Steve
