Wow Steve! The photo is very good, but 10-Stars for the poem! A great message and story all wrapped into one. Just one correction though - I think you meant to use "since" instead of "sense". Now, with you and Lucas, I not only look forward to your next art/photo, I'm anxious to read your poems too!

OMG! David you are SO right. I used the entirely wrong word. I would ordinarily be upset but as this is becoming more common along with not being to remember anything, I guess I will have to Depend upon You to check my spelling in future poems. What a relief Knowing that it is now Your Responsibility to be my Wordsmith. LOL. Thanks David. Good catch. No one else caught it....Hmmmm ~ Steve

haha! Well, I am retiring in a few months so I guess I can handle a little more responsibility. Besides, I am a self-appointed member of the Internet Word Police! ;)

Ah. A card carrying member of the Spelling/Sense/Since Gestapo. Great. You are Sooo needed.
I retired a little while ago and my mission is to give people like you a Sense/Since of Purpose. Glad to help. That is why I am here David ; )

Lucky you - I still have 5 more months. 48 years of working is enough...

Tell me about it. Retired Army. Then the VA as a Therapist. Time for a Break in the action. Hang in there. It is worth it.

Steve this is very clever and very well done and taken!
Love the idea, love the black outer space idea with the highlighted water acting as stars and with the warmness of the center light sourse again acting as the sun it all works perfectly for me! I would give a 6 if I had one!

Very nice abstract created here by light reflecting in water. Good movement and shapes. It does have a "universe" feeling to it. Well seen and captured.

A great entry for this contest. I looks at it and find myself wondering exactly what it is. The title is perfect. Nice post-processing work to create a nice abstract image. Best of luck, Steve.

A very good entry into the competition posted here! Your enjoyable image certainly does project a good sense of the astronomical. The dispersing dots/bubbles seem to be suggesting that they are expanding from a central position. Well done and good luck!

very cool approach. it does give an illusion of space. the angle of the shot of the downward view of water on ground with light reflection is great. the capture of the light is great. the clarity is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

I have no idea how a birth of a galaxy would look like, but when I see your photo, I believe it would be exactly like you have imagined it. This is of course also a great looking abstract with very fine textures, and I like the strong contrast between dark and light.
Looking into your universe is indeed a pleasure, and I thing this mixed media photo in all its simplicity has a strong visual effect.
The format and framing is perfect and the burst of light has got a perfect placement to draw the viewer in. I think this is an original and great looking abstract with a very good editing, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Hi Steve, this does look like the birth of a galaxy. You did a beautiful job of making everything seemingly coming together. You can fee the rotation begin. Love how your own imagination works with you to see things beginning to form, If I was looking into the heavens I can picture myself seeing this. Very nice perception on what you'd think you see. Definitely work that deserves six stars!!! :o) Nancy

This image has such depth and and creates a sense of the vastness of the universe. The golden light is symbolic of the Creator and the Big Bang that created all that is. The filters you used created a superb image.
