This is a beautiful shot! Excellent focus, lighting, framing, and you even caught her singing! Even the leaves are sharply focused, and the clear blue sky looks great behind it all.

The pose makes me smile. That little guy seems to sing at the opera. This is a beautiful close up. The bird and the leaves show crisp, well refined detail. I admire the beautiful natural colors. Might be that the bird has an ordinary look, but on the blue sky the little singer looks extraordinary. The photo is also well composed and framed.

I Know the song she is singing too! "Catch Me If You Can"! ;)
I am diggin' the stop action and your captured pose of this wee sparrow stretched up singing.
Great focus, fab eye clarity, crisp details, true and natural colors and fine exposure.
Fine bird Photography Monty ;)

Lol, thank you Sange! They actually do have a really pretty melody to their songs, especially for such a plain looking bird, lol!

Haha! Perfect timing catching him or her in the midst of singing a tune. Nice close up capture of this sparrow with his mouth wide open. Clarity is perfect and focus is sharp.

Thank you very much! This pose is pretty much how I see these little sparrow ladies at least 90% of the time. They seem to always be singing :)

I can't tell the difference between a male and female. How can you tell if it's a female or male?
reply by the author on 04-Aug-2019
The males of this species are larger than the females. I think I may have misspoke about the gender, since this one is singing so strongly. The males are usually the strong singers while the females chose their male based on the song he sings.

    Ok thanks for the clarification

Caught in a great pose. Very interesting markings. most of the sparrows I see look just dark gray... this one is very pretty with its brown specks. I like it's little nest of leaves it's sitting upon and I can almost hear it sing when I look at the picture. Very sharp focus and pleasing to the eye.

A cute shot Grace!

this looks like a girl? Looks similar to our house sparrows here. and the males are darker in some areas.

Nicely done with perfect focus
