and you cleverly gave us the shore in the distance to add a touch of reality to the whole scene. these quick sketches are often the most lifelike drawn on the move, /or between coffee sips/ There is a lovely feel of leisure about it all, but I live in an old industrial city, so I would pick up on that.

Thank you a ery nice review and glad you enjoyed the tranquillity.
I know the hassle and noise of cities .

This watercolour painting of the stork is very well rendered. Lovely smooth washes. Fineness of the features well drawn. The shading is just fine. Overall a very good effort.Good luck!

Thank you. I had some thinking my background too faded. But its trial and error. I normally do much stronger colours.

Nice paint of the bird and the beach

still, the paint is a bit pale and this takes from the initial impact

thanks for sharing

Thanks for that. It's interesting what you say 're paleness. Originally it had more depth of colour. A local gallery said my work was too strong in my use of colours so I deliberately pastelised this. You learn by doing and for me that says stick to what you do is you... the very next review for this piece said the same as you. Lol. Thanks again.

For sure you have done a great job in memorizing - even the idea with the big wave running against the beach and him looking down - is a nice combination - I love our border line in a long curve giving you deepness in this painting and drawing the focus on the strop - nice detail work and beautiful color range
I might work a bit on the photograph in contrast and lighting so your design will even stand out more , well done

That was a great review. Thank you so much. Interestingly you mention deeper colours for contrast. The original is just that and i deliberately pastilised it because a gallery said all my art was too colourful. Lol. You are not the only reviewer who said this. I learn by doing and should put more faith in what i do is my style.

I totally agree - listen to your heart and that is the best you can do because it has to be your energie manifesting in your art - when it is origianly that color it is beautiful - often artists have often not the photographic skills and there is lots of noice - therefore I mentioned it - in case... I love pastels and you have done a great job for sure

I think you did a fine job on the landscape, water and the stork.
I like the softness the watercolor paint offers and the lovely beach scene you created.
The open wings and feather details are very nice.
I applaud your always wanting to learn and grow in your painting.
:)

Thank you, fine and helpful comments and yes my learning never stops. This year hit a blip as I couldn't do big canvases anymore due to location so had to think about another way o f releasing my art energy. Lol when you change course then in my case I really need to investigate new techniques.
