I really like the dark background and the clean foreground that both help to make the bird stand out so nicely. He is a cutie and you captured very nice detail of his face. His tiny spotted pattern is also cute and shows well.

It's so pleasing to see white balance Controlled so well on a mostly white bird if prey in the bright sun. It can be done and you prove that here well.
It's time the long time members of this site start studying and Learning white balance control rather than sacrificing speed for light.
This is a Male since his throat is all white, females have brown on their throat area.
Your focus, details and exposure are all handled well here Jo.
Nice work and I had a chuckle at your notes it was Blowey and Sunny!! ;)
