I've never been that plant before. Very interesting and unusual indeed! It also shows how a burr or wild cucumber holds to the stem or branches when it growing up. You captured and adjusted it in such a creative way Helvi! Blurry backgroung is a great idea! It makes the spikes highly visible! Awesome shot! Thanks for sharing! I like it!!!

I like especial how you placed the fruit into the frame The curved vine and the tendrils and how the cucumber hangs diagonally toward the right corner is eye pleasing. The colors appear realistic. The dark shallow background emphasizes the cucumber considerably. Details are well defined. The composition is balanced and adequately framed.

Hi Mike, I didn't know these existed till a few years ago....now I'm fascinated by them! I'm glad you thought I did well with the tendrils. I've always loved the way they twist and turn. Thanks for the Great review! :o( Nancy

A very nice nature photo posted here! Your fine, full and almost central composition offers us an enjoyable view of your strange cucumber. Love those mild green tones. Sharpness and exposure are good. Nicely done!

What an unusual look thing this cucumber is. I can see why it is not edible even if the spikes are soft.
I do like those tendrils twirling around the main vine. They give such a nice touch of drama to the image.
I am not sure how you did or what you mean by the BW and negative overlay but it definitely give this a unique look and feel Great work Nancy.
The background is just right to accent the cucumber. If you have more be sure to save one for a 'green' contest.
Well done Nancy ~ Steve

Hi Steve, A BW and BW neg is simply this. Turning one of your images Black and White then adding a transparent negative overlay of it over the top. The negative overlay is White and Black instead of the other way around. I make my Negative overlay with 50% transparency. If you slide the the negative down on the Black and White it gives you an embossed look. I always save the original color shot and make that a transparency so place it on top and re-introduce the color. If you want try it just to see how it looks. Thanks for the Great review on this Steve. I'm glad you enjoyed the shot! :o) Nancy

I really love to find things like this in nature, this wild cucumber is intriguing it's something I have not seen before, I love it's tiny shape and the spikes that make me think of a cactus. You have photographed this very well with nice sharp focus, the image is clear, I like the stem and tendrils and the soft background .well composed and presented!

Your close-up/macro photo of this small cucumber is very well focused. The details of the cucumber and the tendrils are very clear and very sharp. The white balance and lighting are well done. Background has been softened to provide just the right contrast.
