I think I will drop buying seeds, because I would probably be dead before it is in Bloom. LOL It is a truly beautiful plant though, and you have pictured it so well. I especially like how lovely the light is falling on the Flowers and the all black background.
All the Flowers are standing out Sharp and well defined against this background, and the exposure is spot on.
The format you have cropped the photo into Works well and the orchid plant has got a fine placement within the frame. A truly beautiful and well taken photo Fred, and I wish you Luck With the contest.

I have a friend who is a retired cardiologist. He has a huge home that includes a room where he grows orchids. He has complete control of the environment including the percentage of carbon dioxide in the air. He would be thrilled to see this beauty. I think he might have one of these but will ask him next time I see him.

Very nicely done. I confess I normally skip flower shots as they mostly look like pages from a gardening catalogue. Thankfully this one is different, for one it's an unusual flower and set against that black background it becomes really something special. Lovely shot.
