A very beautiful picture of this very colourful Kingfisher perched on the reed stalk the sunlight dancing on it's iridescent blue crown while highlighting it orange Bill, cheeks & under wings , it's white great & blue crown, back & wings. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus

I haven't seen one of these before, they are very colorful, with all of the colors being so bold and bright. You got a very nice shot, and I enjoyed reading your notes as well.

A very beautiful photograph of a Giant Kingfisher, are these Kingfishers allusive as the Kingfishers as we have in the states? Very good lighting on your subjects. Very well balanced and well framed, good focus and sharp, goof DoF, natural colors and tones. Overall, well done wildlife photograph.

What a great looking bird! I would enjoy being able to see this one in person. The colors are very nice with flattering light. I like the way he is gripping the branch at an angle and he is well placed in the frame.

This is indeed a colorful bird Fred, and you have captured it so well. I especially like how well the eye showing a highlight is captured, and also how lovely the light is falling on the bird. With the nicely softened background the bird is standing out in an excellent way.
The photo is very Sharp and it is such Clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the bird, and the exposure is Perfect.
The composition is strong With the bird placed off to the left, and also the format you have cropped the photo into Works well. A truly lovely and well taken photo, and With an excellent DOF. I wish you Luck With the contest.

HE is so pretty and you got him from the very best angle and view point - a super portrait picture showing his body and colors so well
he is clear and sharp and contrast and lighting is well managed, in addition the sunlight shines on him giving him an extra light
the blurred close up background is a beautiful color contrast giving this little guy the perfect color contrast to stand out
