This is a really cool image. The spiked center of the cone flower seems to be surrounded in flames as though it was lighting up the garden. I love cone flowers and I like the fine details you captured with the light reflecting on the spiked center.

Ooh, I love this, Annie. Cone flowers are a very favorite of mine and this is quite a shot at the perfect time when the cone is at its best height. The straight on perspective emphasizes that and the sunset halo effect takes it into a wonderful step further. True photography artistry in my opinion. Excellent! Ed.

A gorgeous shot,it does indeed appear to be glowing from within with a slight flame emanating from it like a lit candle. Excellent sharp focus,great detailing seen throughout,the darkened background beautifully sets it off.

Now this is just a fabulous image Annie. My kind of photo. This has so many wonderful things going for it: The lightly painted looking petals which have just the right amount of lighting. The 'spikes' of the Cone Flower are beautifully back lit giving a warm yet dramatic look as they seem to say 'Danger Do Not Touch'. The halo crowns the cone and the ambient glow gives such an artistic effect. One of you better postings Annie. Bravo ~ Steve

I like your use of light very much. The flower center looks like a sun with rays providing light for the petals. The light in the background looks like an halo. The vignette like darkness surrounding the flower emphasizes the flowers and the halo profoundly. The mixed media is excellently composed. The composition is balanced.
