Linda, this is very nicely done and sends an important message to both men and women. Congratulations on the 2nd place finish (although I think it should have won based on the message alone)

Thank you ever so much, Dave. I was pleasantly surprised at the support I have received for depicting such a dark subject. Even my family was appalled, lol.

This is a very powerful image! It's so sad to see this battered woman. I hope all women in this type of situation can get the help they need to get away from their abuser and protection if the abuser finds them.

A very sensitive issue and one I came across in my previous role as an officer of the law, subsequently your presentation brought a few memories back..I am impressed with your painting and the concept behind your work and the importance that such creativity can play to bring such an issue to the attention of the wider public. The colours are clear and concise and effective..well done

Wow - I can imagine what you might have seen in your carrier and seeing such a mess is heart touching.
Your design really reflects her situation fully and I love the background you have placed with all those clouds that also reflect her pain, fears and thoughts
excellent detail work on her hair and face expression - you brought perfectly the sadness into her eyes - she must have touched you deeply that you remember her so well , excellent job and all the best of the contest

Your image raises a deep and important issue, and I applaud you for taking it on. I think domestic violence, and all kinds of violence against women is a matter that requires all hands on deck -- and perhaps most importantly artists to help spread awareness.

This is a very powerful picture . It might not be the best proportions of eyes and nose but it's message grabs you the minute you view it. You must have been so affected to have seen this kind of violence to draw about it. horrible these abuse exists

The portrait is shocking, but I know those things happen and we cannot ignore them. It is often not easy to help the victims, but we have to try. The victims often deny their own abuse. You made aware of a hidden problem.
The painting is well done. Proportions and perspective are realistic.
This women would look beautiful if she were nor abused. The battered face has a classical oval shape. The tired, sad eyes are impressive. The composition is balanced, but I would have framed slightly tighter.

A powerfully sad and expressive image of a battered woman...which is not often shown or talked about. You have painted this very well to express your subject. Good balance of colours, shade and light. Thanks for sharing Linda
