You have created a painting with so much emotion, and the bruises (more than any other feature) let the viewer know that all if not well with this woman. Effective colors, and the expression in her eyes is especially good.

Words can bring to mind examples of experience and 'expressions' is one such word. This picture is true to your description. It shows despair in the eyes and strength as if she is saying... so what, I love the guy' it was my fault anyway... don't ask questions... " so much I can see in this piece. Your style I really like your colour pallet excellent. I was in social work for a while and this is very typical.

This display of a battered woman came across on point, it is the first thing I thought of when I looked at the subject. She definitely has a black eye, bruised cheek and a busted lip .Setting her portrait in front of the purple and blue background really works with this piece !

I got the meaning before even seeing the title. Photography with a message can be very powerful and this one is that for sure. The pain and heartbreak, clearly evident, emanates off the canvas. So well done!

A victim of domestic violence! So common happening but goes without the perpetrator getting punished or with light sentences. You have painted the lady with an expressions that shows determination to fight. Proud. A fine painting. I don't think you should put this under adult category. In he general category there will be more viewership.

I can relate to this as my mom was a battered wife until she finally broke up with my father after 7 years of suffering!
This is a vivid graphic presentation of a beaten wife...
The elongated facial rendition added impact to the message conveyed.
The purplish color of the violent backdrop seem to delineate the physical pain & bruised ego she's experiencing from the hands of her husband...or lover!
