Thank you Contest Committee :-)

Magnificent sunrise photo. I like the red and orange of the sky. The sign just rising peaking over the hill. The wind mill against the sky is beautiful. Sharp focus and detail. Good composition and lighting. Great job!

Magical sense of the sunrise in this, think though it is a tad to dark, just a tad lighter giving the windmill just a hint of a bit more light, would I think have made this even better, but still like it and full marks for getting up early...Brian

This scene has some gorgeous color and light. I like how attractive the shape of the windmill looks and the nice patterns it adds. I really enjoy how well exposed the colors in the sky are in this image.

Thank you Envision. Actually the hard part was getting out of bed, with the windmill and the sky all I had to do was press the button.

Len,
A beautiful pictureOf. Magical moment when the sun crests the horizon & lights up the sky above in the blazing colours of a fire giving the windmill a gold tinted halo, the trees along the horizon & the windmill's sails are in silhouette against the beautiful colours in the sky. Artistic composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

What a wonderful scene you have created here Len. It looks like it could be a painting. Definitely a wall hanger.
The pastel colors are well rendered. The light on the side of the windmill is such a wonderful element of this scene. The sun is in just the right place on the horizon. I know that there is such a short window of time to get a shot like this before the sun blasts forth and washes out all colors.
Great timing and after photo work.
Of course THE Real photo would be of you in you pajamas taking this photo. Now That would be a scene!
Well done Les ~ Steve

Many thanks iPhone. All photographs of me in pyjamas have been destroyed ... and the photographer, strangely missing.
Great review and rating, thanks again

Well it certainly was worth your getting out before sunrise in this case!
It's perfect timing to capture the sun just as it rises above the horizon, the deep reds, orange and gold tones rising up to meet the blue sky is beautiful, the windmill standing against the beautiful morning sky in partial silhouette, adds further interest and texture to this scene, it also shows the contrast between natural and man made.
This is of course, well focused, this image is clear and the low light is very well managed.
Well composed and presented!

Simply perfect work Len. This is a glorious view. The shading, colors and shadows are spot on. I personally wouldn't be able to do this without my coffee...and a lot of it! I hope you put this on your wall and drink your coffee under it, it is gorgeous! Well done!

Thank you very much indeed Jodi. Not easy without coffee I'll admit ... but I made up for it later.

A very nice and moody landscape photo posted here! Your fine and traditional composition offers us an enjoyable view of your glorious sunrise. You have made great use of the dramatic lighting. Wonder where in the world that strange windmill/restaurant arrangement is? Well taken!

Thanks nikman. I can't remember the name of the village but it's visible from the autoroute North to Toulouse.

Many thanks!

a great low key capture of this landscape at dawn; wonderful colors of the sky at Sunrise; very Strange to build a windmill at the top of a restaurant; why not indicate the location?
