I do Willie, and I wish you a Happy New year. I think this is pretty creative and a fine entry for a contest like this. I especially like how you used a fire plug as a foreground to avoid showing a blow out of the center of the sparkler.
The silhouette of it is standing out well defined against the well captured sparkles, and I like the golden colors.
The format you have cropped the photo into Works well, and I like how the fire plug is placed a bit off to the right. I think this is a well taken photo, and I wish you Luck With the contest.

You get your wish. I do like it. The sight is especial alluring on the last day of the year. It reminds of fireworks behind a tower. The sparkling colors on the dark background are fascinating. The photo is excellently focused and exposed. The framing is perfect. The composition is balanced.
