it is rather a true macro, not just a close up; fantastic sharp focus and details; one can see not only the tinest hair but also the polen grains;

WOW Willie ! I don't think you could have come very much closer than this, and I think this is a great entry into this contest. I especially like the fine shine you have captures in the bee's eyes and well the smallest hairs are standing out.
Your Focus is spot on and Sharp showing such Clear and well defined details in the bee, and also the exposure is Perfect.
I like the tight cropping and also the placement of the bee within the frame. This is indeed a lovely and well taken macro shot With an excellent DOF, and I wish you Luck With the contest.

OMG that is amazing macro of the bees eyes. Very sharp with excellent composition. Think this one is a winner as it is the true definition of macro. :)
