Hello there, my friend. This is a lovely painting from just your memory. I believe you captured it well. I'm no artist but this is wonderful. I'm going to give painting a go. We'll see what happens. lol.

This is lovely and is a very good painting to show cold weather! The little bird is cute and I like how his feathers are ruffled. Great entry for the contest! Best of luck!

A lovely rendition of the little bird in the cold with the icicles on the reeds. Love the subtle colors which are blended nicely and the darker tones of the bird.

Hi, Love your little bird sitting among the reeds. Love how you arranged the reeds. The slope on both sides lead your eyes right to the bird. He does look like he's a little chilled too! A very nice wintry scene that also has a calming affect! Nicely Done! Good Luck in the Contest! :o) Helvi

Wow that's a high one thank you so much for a great review. I love oils but I travel alot so need practice with them. Acrylic dry fast but are forgiving with mistakes or changes of mind. Recently I tried out gauche. This is somewhere between the two. Drying slower than acrylics faster than oil. Also you can mimic oil, use a knife, add mediums, or mimic acrylic and watercolour depending on how much water you add.

I know what you mean, our atmosphere is grey and there seems to be a horizontal demarcation line, where it changes to the sky, blue or what ever. I could never work it out, till one summers day, I was idly waiting for the tram to come up and saw, in the slivers of sun, a whole massive mist around the tram of what looked like speckles, which you normally never notice. It is dust raised by the heavy tram. I love the tram as it is so quick, but had never realised the dust it spreads! I love this, your quirky work is my favourite.

You have a great sense of telling a story and I can just see that tram's dust cloud. I have memories too when I think back and in my mind can see the cloud. Usually on a hot day. Thanks as always for your valuable review

I really like this! It's a scene that could easily have been inspired by looking out my window! Very well shown cold winter day , the frost on the reeds tells the story well, the little bird clinging to the frost covered reed is all puffed up to keep warm. Very well created little bird and I like it's position in this scene! Very good entry for this contest! Best wishes to you!
