Hi Pat, I have to admit this eagle does have a very formidable look on his face! Yikes! Looks like he got out of the wrong side of the bed the morning! The lighting and clarity of this shot only make that face stand out more. Very cool and quite a shoot! Sorry I don't have a six for you!:o) Nancy

That expression is indeed formidable, and it's interesting to see how that very expression is in fact its character. A dominant bird in the skies that's both predator and protector, those eyes are those of such a bird that is a force that is at the top of the food chain. The overcast weather I think amplifies that effect even more, with the cloudy atmosphere reinforcing the seriousness of the eagle's demeanor.

Indeed, this bird is formidable. The fierce star is impressive. The photo is perfect focused and exposed. The details of the head and the feathers are excellently refined. The colors are realistic. The portrait is expertly composed and framed.

A great portrait. I like the profile view and the great exposure for the white feathers. The eye is fantastic and gives him a fierce look that you often see in predators.

Certainly very intimidating I don't think I would want to get too close - your portrait is excellent with sharp focus on the eye and great clarity of the feathers and beak. Color is good with excellent exposure.

This dashing photo of this Bald Eagle captures the distinguished honor of America's Bird. <3.
Great profile of this Bald Eagle! The focus is spot on. If I were to name this Bald Eagle, I would call it Reginald :- P
Thank you for sharing Pat!

Pat, you always inspire me with your pieces.

This Eagle is so handsome and they always have that intensity of their stares that make you wonder why they are mad :)

Love your finely held colors here as well.

Yes indeed, formidable! I would take this as the alpha eagle, if there is such a thing.

Nice capture, sharp eye, great positioning in the frame.

Well done. I never gets tired of bald eagle shots. I remember when they were very rare, not so much anymore after DDT was banned!

my mum used to have an expression like that. Looking at him, you realise it is impossible for him to smile or look calm and collected. Poor eagle. He got a face to match his nature! Love it.
