I like how the black and white colors amplify the already ominous appeal to this photo. The dark clouds edited to swirl like that truly make this even more dramatic. I like how you turned this photograph with simple subject matter into something very artistic that speaks volumes about nature and its devastatingly powerful effects on the planet. Really cool how you got the close up of this one tree left standing, a lone survivor amidst the aftermath of the geyser basin's wrath.

An impressive b&w image, showing the devastation that Mother Nature can enact upon Herself. The sky with it's angry clouds seems ready to unleash it's fury upon the barren landscape;the dead tree, devoid of it's limbs seems to be standing defiantly in this barren landscape, pointing skyward,as if to say"I REMAIN"! An excellent composition, very well edited, extremely raw and forbidding,I wish you all the best in the contest with this!

Oh wow! How are you? This is great. I suppose you know about the scientific theory that the underground magma is one of the largest volcanoes on Earth and overdue to blow? Wow! Thank you so very much Daphne for your wonderful review information and More than Generous rating. Thank you for he link. I have been to Yellowstone many times. Most of Yellowstone is one huge caldera. You are right. When it begins to grow and finally blows, in a hundred thousand or so years, it will be absolutely Catastrophic. Thank you again Daphne. I am doing well here in Mexico and I hope you are doing well also ~ Steve

Fantastic black and white picture. Great composition. Focus and details are sharp. Lighting is good. The dark clouds makes the branch stand out boldly. Good luck in the photo contest.

Wow! Very impact! The stark contrast between the movement in the sky and the still and barren landscape is very dramatic! The black and white makes it all the more interesting! It's great !

dramatic use of b/w and of a landscape,it looks like a real raw feel in this and the viewpoint plus the backdrop of a dark sky makes this one,i like the thought this conveys of thinking outside the box...Brian

Hi Steve, this is very well suited to the black and white as it supports the mood of this subject matter and shows the bleakness of what the forces of nature can do. The ominous clouds are very dramatic and you have captured them well, I like the play of light and shadows with the shadows appearing to be winning here, well placed horizon line with the tree line marking it in back, this dead tree in foreground shows what nature can do . This is well focused, the image is clear, exposure is well managed, I see good tonal variations in the black and white. Well composed to tell this story, well presented. Best wishes to you in this contest!

It's my pleasure!
You deserve it!
I was rushed to the hospital
The other night in an ambulance. There is massive swelling in my back muscles and lungs apparently. Emission if I was in a bad position even standing up or sitting down I felt like something was poking my lungs to make it hurt to breathe. I was harassed by the security guard. Hospital made the EMTs get off the gurney can into a chair which was the worst position I could be in I needed to stay on the Gurney smh
I let the hospital's corporate know about the harassment from the security guard and the poorly way I was treated by the triage nurse. I was in so much pain I was crying!
It was a nightmare. But I wrote detailed
Reviews on Google and Yelp. That security guard is about to lose his job.

Oh man! That was a terrible experience Darth. I'm sorry you had to go through that. You did the right thing in letting Corporate headquarters know what happened.
Did they determine what the lung problem was? I hope it is not serious. Keep me posted on your health Darth ~ Steve

They only said that my lungs were swollen. The diagnosis won the discharge paperwork work said shortness of breath.

I love this black & white mixed media image. It is very dramatic and poignant of the devastation of the forces of nature. It is very clear and a marvellous black and white rendition.
The composition is excellent with the dead tree trunk in the foreground and the dark moving clouds behind the landscape. Wonderful work and a great contest entry!
