A beautiful picture of this Monarch butterfly it's beautiful patterned & coloured wings glowing out from it's black and white background. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera & editing techniques & sharp focus.

Butterfly are very delicate and useful insect in our gardens. Monarchs are probable close to top of the list. The composition is really nice and color contrast appealing. The softness of the butterfly and the sharpness of the plant is a great moment to capture.

Very nice shot of this Monarch. I like the black and white back ground. It really makes the butterfly stand out. Good focus and lighting. Sharp detail. Nicely composed. Well done. Good luck in the photo contest.

unfortunately, your entry will be rejected: selective color means only ONE color; here you have yellow and orange, even if one assumes that black and white are not colors..

What a perfect entry for the contest. Nothing more beautiful than a Monarch butterfly and you have captured it's true magnificence with your photograph. Making the background black and white enhanced the bright yellow.

The classically colorful Monarch butterfly perching on a colorless thistle set in a drab grey background presents us with an interesting 'Out of the Ordinary' type of a scene!

The selective color is perfect. The monochrome background emphasizes the beauty of the butterfly remarkably. The photo has excellent depth, is perfect focused and expertly treated with mixed media. I enjoy the sharply refined detail. The butterfly is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.
