You have produced a very good photograph of this wise looking owl in his luxurious looking feathered glory. I also admire how the owl's coloring effectively blends with the wintry background.

This is wonderful! I love his pose and how he's looking right at you. The snow falling all around him is so lovely. Excellent sharpness and exposure. Very well done!

Fantabulous facial reaction! ;-)
Was he scared? Zoomed in?
Monochromatic overtone.
The twig he is perching on is Relatively small for his size...
Great framing!
Palpable coldless...
Narrow dof...
How you've managed to shoot him at eye level?!?
Wonderful wildlife capture!

Thank you so much for your awesome review! He didn?t appear scared, he just looked at me and allowed a few shots before he flew off, the tree was not very tall.

Spotting owls is hard enough(I'm an avid birder), capturing one on film is even better. Your spot and amazing capture earns a 6 star. Fantastic detail and composition! Congrats!

I like the time of year the photo was taken- the owl looks really good with the winter snow- the look on the owl's face seems as if he was surprised by your presence - Nice job

If all that I was allowed to say Pat was WOW!! then that would have been it! I am totally envious just the owl on its own would have got 6 stars from me but with the snow falling well that puts it above all the rest!
The off set composition is absolutely perfect and the way the owl is looking into the negative space so it all works together. The diffused light is a must for nature photography like this because you are just looking at the main subject not conflicting with the light and shadows of full sunlight and the square format also is a perfect choice and for me everyone that vies and comments on this has to give it 6 stars1

AMAZEBALLS!!! He looks as surprised as you were. This is just a stunning shot. The placement of this beautiful owl in the frame is perfect. Soft blurred background with snow on trees is a perfect canvas. The snow falling all around him tops of what is an absolutely gorgeous scene. Well done Pat. This is spectacular work!!!

Fantastic capture showing fine white balance Control and great use of flat light during a snow storm.
Focus is sharp, shutter high enough to get nice stop action of the falling snow and eye clarity is Fab.
Well done ;)
