Beautiful flower shot!
The yellow looks really pure and the tiny insects add interest. Stands out nicely from the background. I like the placement of the flower in the shot too! Nicely done!

I like how this tulip leans in left to right, filling the frame. The visitors are enjoying the perfume and moisture. The bright yellow pops against the blurred foliage background.

I think this could be a very nice image if it weren't underexposed. I would suggest more light and a tighter crop to show the insects you mention. With just a couple adjustments it would look excellent!

I just think that lighting is just accurate: with more light, the lower petals would be overexposed; with less the insects would be underexposed; if all others find it OK while for you all my pics today and yesterday are wrong, there must be problem

In order for you to capture the details of the insects you will want to increase your light source. It will help your subjects get the attention they deserve :)

A very nice looking tulip with sharp focus on the stamens and those tiny flies. An attractive composition with a natural looking color palette.

maybe a safe place to hang. cool capture. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of this yellow flower with 2 visitors is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Fred,
A beautiful picture of your Butter cup yellow Tulip it's stamens laden with dark pollen while I'm no expert I think the fly on the left might be a St Mark's Fly, so called because they usually appear around 25th May the feast day of St Mark... The soft dark greens of the background make the Tulip pop. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

    Fred,
    I meant 25th April!
Not that it really makes a big difference.

I really enjoy this picture. The yellow in the petals and the dark green surrounding it brings out the beauty of the flower. I love how it is so focused that you can see the little specks of darker yellow on the petals.

This is a nicely structured presentation of this flower from your garden and I particularly like the dark blurred backdrop that assists in the enhancement of the subject although in my opinion the subject does lack sharpness of focus

thanks; on my screen it is very sharp: I can see the legs of the insects and the grains of pollen..
