A delightful photo of this young (?) cormorant. I, too, like the feather stuck in his nose. His fur looks as soft as my cat's. Great job showing us so much texture in fur.

This is a perfect bird portrait. The photo is excellent focused and exposed. I enjoy the excellent sharpness of detail and the realism of color. The beak, eye and the feathers are exquisitely refined. I even see a down in the beak of the Pied Cormorant. The shallow background neutral emphasizes the bird nicely. The bird is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

a great entry to the letter P contest with this strange looking cormorant, never seen before; perfect framing with sharp focus; it was certainly an exposure challenge with the difficult black and white "colors".

(in an whining old mans voice) the bird says..'everytime i come to this bay these humans come up with those funny boxes that click. they put up in my face..click click..makes me wonder is there something on beak that i cant see or are they expecting me to throw them a fish?..wont happen!" lol..couldnt resist..hi face looks like he is a lil annoyed..lol. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of this birds facial is great. the image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Mary,
A beautiful picture of this beautiful Pied Cormorant with a tiny piece of fluff clinging to it's beak after preening, it's eyes fixed on the water below. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.

A very good looking entry into the competition posted here! Your fine, full and off-centre composition offers us a very enjoyable bird portrait to admire. Like its beak and feather detail. Sharpness and exposure are good. Well done and good luck!

This is an impressive profile nature image of a Pied Cormorant Mary. Your clarity and lighting is excellent and the details are wonderfully displayed regarding his feathers, eye, beak and little feather on his beak :-). Great contest entry and all the best to you.

A very fine looking cormorant, quite unlike the ugly beasts we have in Michigan. I like the exposure for the white feathers and the beautiful detail in the face.

What a cute looking cormorant,I like it's formal wear colors of black and white, resembling a penguin, and that bit of fluff on it's beak is precious.Excellent focus and exposure,i like the sheen on the feathers and the diffused background. A really lovely capture and great entry for the contest,I wish you all the best!
