The detail is just astounding. You can clearly see everything. Good job on focus and clarity! I might have liked a darker background, but I know you have to grab these when they come along. I'm glad that the focus is so strong on the bug and less on the flower. Good photo. Good luck on the contest

very cool. the angle of the close up shot of this fly and colorful flower is great. the capture of the light is great. the clarity is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

What a beautiful photograph, showcasing this hoverfly. The colors and focus are awesome as well are the details, which stand out wonderfully. The designs on the wings are great and have been presented well. Great work!

Technically, this is a fine photo. I know this bee and know how beautiful and tiny it is. By zooming in so closely the average viewer is denied understanding the scale of its delicate size. That's the "problem" for me with so many macro photos. I hope you have another photo of this bee with more of the flower showing.

wow..what a great shot of this hoverfly..The detail is exquisite.The colour of the insect against the yellow flower is so effective and attractive to the eye and the use of that defused backdrop enhances the subject even moreso..well done on a superb presentation

This is a macro shot with strong visual impact because of all the strong golden colors, and the hoverfly is pictured so well. It is also standing out from the background bloom in an excellent way.
The insect is very sharp showing such clear and well defined details to be seen, and the exposure is very good.
The tight framing is working well and I like the diagonal placement of the hoverfly. A truly lovely and well done macro shot Mike, and I wish you luck with the contest.

This is a very good macro shot of the Hoverfly. Focus is excellent on the body and great detail shown on the right wing; a pity the left wing is not so detailed. But still an excellent entry; good luck in the contest
