HA! Great work here Mark. Those Orc's look like typical GI Joe's in the Orc Army. In fact I had troops that look a lot like these guys.

Nice details in this one. Great entry for the contest and I wish you all the best ~ Steve

P.S. Great work on the movie

Can't get much more fantastic than this, with this interesting trio of Orcs. Seems like they are posing very well to have their picture taken-lol! Love their green skin and chain mail tunics, their facial expressions appear to be the same as they pose with their personal arms. A great contest entry that is very well drawn and detailed, like the smiling little daisy that's trying to lighten up the mood of this image!

Good drawing skills. I noticed right away that they all have different helmets on. That adds interest. The shading is good. The colors are bold and bright. Nice work.

What I Mighty big SHARP sword the Orc has!! ;)
So as usual I find humor and a sense of awe in your work. I like the addition of the one lone Daisy and am once again drawn to how you manage to create textures. The details of the leaves, their armor, the trees..
All Sharp and fantastic Dude!

Just showing what my lil ole pens can do. Sometimes I'll hear comments like "I don't like color of the skin tone" or "have you tried copic or Prisma pens". Lordy..I never understand what the art industry has against sharpie and Bic pens. Had a review on this one complaining of they don't like the yellow skin tone ..I laughed and laughed and responded back that there is 4 blend of colors in the skin and not one of them is yellow. Had a friend told me that I should do a class working with sharpies and Bic pens.. I told him " nahhh! I taught myself how to draw based on DC and Marvel comics. Also thru trial and error thru the decades I taught myself lil effects I can do with the pens with no help from any computer".. I'll offer suggestions for that potential sharpie/Bic artist but I'm not giving up my tricks so someone else get famous from them. Now I'm a dinosaur in a digital age. Oh well I'll keep on plugging..thanks for the great review

I HEAR you LOUD and CLEAR DUDE!!!
I "ENJOY" being SCHOOLED by members who have NO clue on white balance, Kelvin Scale or low key Photography. They LIE and say None for edits and all manual settings.
Hmm then give me ALL your settings. They don't even shoot in manual, but yet claim they do. When I ask what their EV was I get no reply.
I ask for Kelvin Temp. Silence
But they tell me, my work is too dark.
Ok...well Google Low key Photography and then get back to me with camera settings.
    But hey...what do I know?

First - your entry for the contest is superb - good luck. It deserves to be recognized. Never remembered the names of the evil creatures in the Hobbit movies - now I will. Love the colors - you made them prettier than they really are ;-).
But the video - which I know is not part of the contest just blew me away. Thanks for sharing .

years ago i went thru being question "is this work really being done with just pens? did you do any mix media on it?" thru time and testimony of some past buyers, folks starting to believe me that this is all done with sharpie and bic markers. my customers would make the comment on how the actual work looks better than the jpgs here on FAR. yeah i had a sucky scanner back then but i got a lil better one. i had a vision about decade ago to try to promoting my work thru video. thru sooooooo many programs and trial and error you see where im at today. 6 years ago i had to create something to get folks to pay attention to me on FAR and other sites. thus born the cartoon series "Funnie Flowers" and "Strange Critters". as you know the flowers took off like a rocket. the "Strange Critters" got there fame much later in the music videos. folks didnt know that i can create gallery art with the lil ole pens of mine..however my medium gets reviews like its to cartoonie, so i went fine dammit im a cartoonist!! lol..i go thru so many copyright regulations when using one of the top 10 guys..then i remembered that i have been a member of Fanmusic since it started back in 2012...so i hit up these up and coming songwriters on FanMusic...got turned down several times till i Bryan Taylor responding back with "How would you create it for me and what storyline?" oh hell music to my ears! and we have done 6 videos together so far...why i tell ya all this? heck chuck we have been reviewing each others work for years. i know seen a few of my contest stuff with all those different flowers and critters cartoons i was making for the videos. so i figured i would give you some of the background that goes what you have witness in the past years. guess you can say "i saw happen in the making back then!" wink. some of my customers purchased the original work from the video..i remember saying "see now you own a piece of the video"..thanks so much for the awesome review and glad that you liked the video.

As is always, or mostly the case with your drawings is all the wonderful textures you create using the artist marker media. In this image that is the case in the armor and the components, leaves, trees, etc., in the negative space.
I do think that the handle/hilt on the sword, is to small, and would not support the blade.
A small thing, overall a very nice composition, in how they are posed for a group painting.

Have good day, be safe, cheers.
Lucien
