A beautiful picture of this Japanese Beetle on the burnt orange centre of the pink Cone flower, it's copper wing cases glowing in the light & blend in with the burn orange of the Cone flower's centre. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques& sharp focus.

What a beautiful photo! I was going to comment that the bug was almost camouflaged, then I saw that was the point of the photo! V-8 moment.... I love the colors, and as you said, the iridescence of the beetle stands out despite the similarity in colors. Good job. Good luck in the contest.

I love the cone flowers and apparently this Japanese Beetle loves them as well. It is very well camouflaged on the center , the colors match very closely .
