It is when I see a photo like this I am sorry I don't have any 6 stars left to give. It is just beautiful to see this colorful butterfly sitting on a thistle, and the light is falling on it in such a lovely way. The colors and the softening of the background make both the butterfly and the thistle stand out in an excellent way.
The photo is just pin sharp showing truly clear and well defined details both in the butterfly and the flower, and the exposure is just spot on.
I also like the way you have cropped the photo and the placement of the butterfly off to the right, while the thistle is placed to the left. This of course makes for a good and well balanced composition. A truly lovely and well taken photo Jo, and with an excellent DOF.

A picture worthy of a SIX star rating if only I still had one. The Peacock Butterfly sucking nectar from the Thistle. The "eyes" on it's right wing standing out clearly from the black & scarlet of the wing & the blurred grey green in the background. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
