This is really beautiful Allan, and I can't stop looking at the lovely autumn colors, the mist in the background and how well you have captured the flow of water in the river. You have also brought out so well the fine textures in the rocks, and the colors are crisp and clear.
The photo is pin sharp all the way through, and it is clear and well defined details to be seen. The exposure is spot on.
I also like the format you have cropped the photo into and with the diagonal position of the river, it is indeed a fine balance in the composition. A truly lovely and well taken landscape photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thanks Annie for this wonderful review and 6 stars also. This landscape was just waiting for a photo to be taken. The diagonal river, color, contrast, and mist just begged me to press the shutter. It was a easy task! Thanks again.

Of course it is Minnesota. I love the state and it's northern landscapes. Fall is especially beautiful with fall colors and rivers full of water that pour over the falls. I have spent time in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and have seen similar views. Bond Falls is one of my favorites. The fog hanging in the air helps set the mood of the is stunning scene. The scene feels like the damp cool fall air is hanging in the morning light and gives you that very special effect for this scene. The framing of the river with fall foliage is a true fall scene.
