This is very pretty, especially for a sketch. Though it may seem simple this being just a sketch really shows off your skills. Keep up the good work.

alyssaclovers07,
I will try to do as you ask.
I am pleased you like my simple drawing, showing less, like with no shading, but just line thickness variations, you can still create and interesting drawing, an interesting piece of art.
thank you again for leaving me your comments, which are greatly appreciated.
take care, & cheers!

I like the simplicity of this artwork, created just by the use of line without shading. Placing the subject at the center still great because you have also provided a balance negative space on each side. I can just imagine this dying pine trees with branches already drooping and brownish and pretty aged. This sketch reminded me of the quote: "less is more."

A very interesting and creative visual presented here. I like how you dramatize the branches of the tree by just simple lines. Very well done thank you for sharing.

At first I thought this was a drawing of a bamboo plant. But I can also see the resemblance to a dying pine tree. In any event it is a beautiful drawing, and a very artistic approach. Good luck in the contest.

Comment from Sara Lautenschlager
This piece shows interesting depth and movement of the branches. At certain glances the trees resemble ment marching or dancing, upon closer view you see how they are branches seeming to move. Fun to look at

Lucien, with out looking at your description, I thought to myself that looks exactly like parts of pine trees. I was right. Very nicely presented. The best of luck in the contest. Ray

Mark,
I do not know either, except when the piece was drawn, it was during the drought and we were at Bass Lake.
Thank you for your time, in looking and leaving your review.
Cheers,
Lucien

Congratulations on your placement win in this contest. I contains many nice lines, a number of good curves. But it does have a little shading. Very nice work!

Glena,
Thank you. and for looking and reviewing this drawing.
On this drawing there actually is no shading, it is the density of the lines and variation that gives the illusion of shading.
have great day,
Cheers.

A beautiful image that is well composed and seems to capture the essence of the scene in a minimum of strokes. Best of luck in the contest.
