Wow Susan! I think this is one of your very best kingfisher captures! I love the way it is looking upward!
Well focused, this image is clear, exposure is well managed, colors and tones appear natural.
Well composed and presented!

    Pat,
    Thanks a million for your complementary review on this Kingfisher for once posing out in the open where I did not have to twist my back to capture it.

    Neil,
    Thanks a million for your complementary review on this Kingfisher for once perched out in the open after fishing & digesting his last Minnow. It was pure luck that I caught him. I was driving past when I saw people with long lens all pointing in the same direction. I took a chance. Parked the car & crossed the road to join them. I fired off 18 shots before I left less than five minutes later & drove off to the Bank. While the other photographers were still clicking away.
    As winter approaches the chance of capturing the Kingfisher increases as it has fewer places to hide behind the foliage.
    Thanks too for your good wishes.

What a beautiful bird. I like how you caught him with the sun lighting up his colors and showing off the iridescent feathers so well. It was nice of him to finally pose on a lower branch for you!

Looks and sounds like you got lucky with this fine shot! Your lovely bird image composition offers a very enjoyable view of your handsome kingfisher. Like the speckled head and beak. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

    Nik,
    It was serendipity that I stopped when I saw the photographers lined along the wall along the river....standing a little to close to Social Distance...I took 18 photos in just about 4 minutes & left the others still clicking>

this pose makes me think the bird is saying.."I am the King of all fisherman!" lol..cool and colorful capture. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of this colorful bird is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

this is your best capture of the Kingfisher with perfect lighting, framing and especially sharp focus; maybe he is calling his friends to come and pose for you;

    Fred,
    Merci beaucoup mille fois for your complementary review on this Kingfisher. I was driving to my bank when I noticed people lined along the river their cameras pointed in one direction. I stopped & joined them...I took 18 shots & left. Leaving the other people still clicking...I was VERY happy with this shot in particular.
