I like the mood that you captured with this image. The moon is fantastic. You sure used a variety of tools to create this. Bringing in Stonehenge adds to the drama and overall effect.

I would rate this as a "wall hanger" for sure!

A very good looking entry into the competition posted here! I have been there many times over many decades, but never saw it like this! Then again though never visited at night. Like your nocturnal painting but is that moon just a bit big? Well created and good luck!

Harvest moon and artist prerogative. Lol only saw once bypassing during the night. There must have been a festival as spotlights were changing colour. It's on my bucket list to visit properly. Thanks for a great review.

That is lovely. You have an ability to pick up the soul of your subjects -- subject matter somehow. I think it is extremely mystical. My admiration! It is certainly worthy of a 6!

What an artistic and wonderful creation you did Brenda. The colors and the moon are such a perfect combination that create a mood in this ancient place.
It makes me think of space,
and a city floating in it.
Very artistic and extremely well done from memory.

Thank you and for your compliments. I did use reference photos to get the structure shapes but the rest is my memory interpretation

Although, the artwork is contemporary styled, the viewer identifies the famous historic monument instantaneously. Your pen-strokes are skilled and show experiences with your medium. The moon, low above the columns, emphasizes the magical circle remarkably. How the moonlight illuminates the columns is memorable. The ancient monument is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

'Molahd an Bandia' ( as 'the Great Old Ones' would whisper as they approached any of the 'henges' in 'the early time' ),Brenda!
Your 'semi imaginary' rendering of this sacred monument and 'cross over point' near the Salisbury Plain looks Great to this descendant of Druids and 'Friend of the Witches'!

What I like the best about this beautiful picture is the color pallet you have used. With the green light it almost reminds me of the northern light. I especially like how the light from the moon has given stones a fine silver lining, and also that you have added stars in the sky.

I think you have used your imagination in a very creative way, and still this Stonehenge is easy to recognize. You have used high lights in a very effective way.

The format and framing is perfect, and with the moon placed so nicely to the right, it is a very fine balance in the composition. I think this is beautiful and well done Brenda, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you for a great and in depth review. Yes the green reminded me of the Northern Lights too .. It was sort of what I was aiming for.. The lazers I remember went red yellow green and the green is my best remembered effect.

I think green would look the best as well, and you are more than welcome for the review Brenda.

Very impressive with superb imagination of this historic site. It must have an impact on you since you chose to paint It later. Great details of the structures and the sky illumination.
