I didn't know that you could stretch watercolor paper. What is the reason for doing that?
I love your complimentary color choices and beautiful rendition of irises. Irises are not easy to paint (as far as I'm concerned anyway.)
Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for your very kind review. The reason you stretch watercolour paper is so it won?t buckle when it gets wet. You have to soak the paper with water and staple or tape it down and then it dries stretched out. That?s for 140 lb paper. You don?t have to stretch 300 lb paper because it?s much thicker and won?t buckle when wet.

Nice composition of the beautiful iris flower, one of my favorite is enjoyable.
This watercolor and your technique of the flowers create an energy garden of color. The light peeking through the flowers adds to this energy and gives emphasis to the flowers. The details of the flowers and the lacework of them all works to complete a pleasant flower picture.

Wonderful watercolor painting of these irises with from deep purple to almost white colors. Details and skillfully blended colors are so pleasing to view. Great full screen composition.

A lovely wash/ semi wash painting of irises. Beautiful colors you've chosen and blended well . I might have opted for a little yellow in the background but that's just me .

I really like this presentation of art as it takes me back to my mothers garden which was always in flower. You have blended the colors and mix of flowers well.

Nice watercolour handling skill. I like use of vibrant colours. The style is quite abstract and free flowing not realistic and confined, which is both a merit and demerit of it. But overall good painting.

Thanks for your review. I like to paint in a more expressive way sometimes which can evoke more emotion than extreme realism can, especially in watercolours. It?s the perfect medium for a looser feel and self expression.

I like the abstract appearance of this garden scene. We realize there are many flowers who blow in the wind and mingle with each other. The colors are attractive and create happy emotions and the imagination of warm sunlight. That the entire frame is filled with flowers emphasizes the mood of the painting. The painting is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.
