Fantastic photograph of the red sand dune. The deep blue of the sky in the background of the sand dune makes the color stand out. Sharp detail. You can see the ripples on the sand. Good focus and lighting. Well composed. Nicely done. Good luck in the photo contest.

This is an impressive and also beautiful landscape Fred, and you have pictured it so well. The sand dunes really look red, and the strong blue color of the sky, offers a great contrast. A strong wind would probably change the landscape completely.

The photo is pin sharp with clear and well defined details, the colors are great and the exposure perfect.

I also like the format you have cropped the photo into, and with the croup of trees on the left, it is a very fine balance in the composition. A truly lovely and well taken landscape photo, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

Fred,
A very beautiful of the Namibian sand dunes with what to me looks as if they maybe Thorn bushes or Palo Verde trees the curving river in the centre reflecting the blue sky above adds interest along with the ripples on the sand on the left. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.

this is a very dry area, not a drop of water during many months;
no river!
the trees are a variety of accacia with thorns, a protection from animals;
