I red your notes before I started to review this image, and the story is truly touching. Therefore I also like that the purple panther is included in the foreground, and I especially like the golden touch of the fur because it adds such a striking contrast.
The painting is done paying very good attention even to the smallest details, and you have also used high lights in an excellent way. The purple and pink colors are truly lovely, and your brush work has a very good flow.
The tight framing and format is working well, and I think it is a very good balance in the composition. Indeed an intriguing, lovely and well done digital painting, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Your story reminds me of some ancient African legends. The scars of the woman might be ugly, but her destroyed beauty shows still in her expression and the solemn look of her eyes. Although, the mythical Panther has the shape of its real relative on earth, the golden glow of his eye and fur shows that he is a deity. The colors are adequate for your story. The painting is well composed and framed. The tall framing is sufficient. The composition is balanced.

What a sad story with elaborate presentation of all the details on the women's face that she is covering with the scarf. Sadly that is what we are all doing lately too.
The colors, especially on the panther are great with great composition.
