This could easily have been Jack Sparrow's ship, The Black Pearl. I especially like that the photo was taken when the setting sun was right behind the ship, and how the sun is reflected in the wet sand in the foreground. You have also pictured so well the fine shine and waves in the sea.

The ship is standing out well defined against the sky, and all the golden colors are out of this world. The exposure is perfect.

The format and framing is working well, and with the ship off to the right, it is a very fine balance in the composition. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo Steve, and with an excellent DOF.

An eye catching shot. I love the colors and the look of the breaking waves, but I would consider cropping off some of that shore at the bottom.

    Thanks Mike. You are right about cropping up from the bottom. I did that and it looks much better. Thanks for the tip ~ Steve

I am used now to recognize your pics immediately without looking at the name: always an excellent composition with dark-brown colors due to the "different filters" you use;

Your title and capture remind me of the celebrated movie Pirates of the Caribbean. The ship looks indeed like the Black Pearl. The light of the sunset emphasizes the ship. The light reflections on the clouds, in the water and the wet sand are fascinating. Your photo is perfect focused, exposed and treated with mixed media. It has impressive depth. The ship is excellently placed within the frame. The seascape is balanced.

Love this beautiful photograph with the sunset in the perfect position and creating nice reflections in the darker water as well. It amazing how many tries it takes to get one really good, special picture.
Steve, thank you for sharing!

Before I got in to all of this I did not know that. It seems it could be almost easier to paint the
scenery, if we can though.

The composition and details are beautifully presented and very pleasing overall presentation.

Hey Steve!
Wow what an excellent photo of Jack Sparrows ship haha. The colors are beautiful and the setting sun directly behind the ship is appealing to the eye. The wet beach with the sun reflecting off of it in the foreground is a great addition to the photo. The clouds and water provide some really nice framing. Well done here Steve!
