What a super idea, a daily Sketch Endeavour project. Goodness, when do you have time to do your own work when not working for the history club- actually I suppose you can use that work? So you are still working for Newcastle area though you live in Portugal and Germany intermittendly? Great drawing. Old people are so interesting to draw and paint, though everyone loves babies because of their enlarged heads and eyes!

Thank you. I dont work for the history club but am part of the group. Its so interesting to see my home area in Newcastle, as it is and as it was. If you would like I can invite you. It's on Facebook. Sketching daily is a discipline that I am finding addictive. You should give it a go. I am aiming at realism as it's not one of my naturals but it makes me notice details I otherwise miss.

I do work daily and I mean daily on my smaller books and the large acrylic paintings. It is very useful in these times with the laboratory St barths created Covid 19 isolation-- and that is what is and has been robbed by the lab st barths Human research swine, to sell as their own work, as they commit their unspeakable crimes. I would say yes, but I have never even been to Newcastle!!!

Nice authentic drawing of this sailor enjoying his quiet moment with his pipe. Great shading and details with so great details on his face and clothing; nice technique and overall presentation.

This is a wise looking mate, like one you would see down by the docks telling stories!
Love the fine line work throughout the face and his expression of concern. The details of the hat, pipe and clothing is well done. Good tone and technique.
Exciting to view.

Newcastle, England perhaps? Your fine and full composition offers us an enjoyable view of that wizened, yet wise looking character. Like the detail and tones in it. Nicely drawn!

He looks indeed like a seaman. As far as I know, the pipe and the mustache were typical for the sailors from the southern shores, of that time. I am impressed by the multitude of realistic detail and textures at your drawing. The proportions are correct. The shading is excellent His expression is indeed interesting. His tight-lip smile is lovely. The deep creases in his skin speak of hard work at the ship. The sailor is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.
