Like in the song,wonder if the fence was meant to keep us out,or to keep Mother Nature in?! Very pretty landscape just behind this wooden fence,looks like a swampy grassland are with some purple flowers in the back(perhaps purple loosestrife?) and the mountains even farther back. I see the higher peaks still have snow. the sky is a beautiful blue with bright white clouds. I can see why someone would want to keep all that beautiful scenery secure!

you are so lucky to have made it to the USA. We were expelled from our homes because we were Austro-Hungarian citizens by the Russians, Poszon and my family had their house, the dowry present of my grandma taken away as it was our tailoring business to for being bourgeiosies/?/. At one stage we managed to get to Bavaria. There every farmer had to take a refugee family. The lady farmer and her 4 daughters were mother and I landed had a small farm. It had a fence like that. I used to get the old farm horse, climb up on the fence and then onto its back, it shook me off. Again, inumerable times I climbed up. I wanted to ride my horse. each time I look at this photo, it reminds me.

I know that we are fortunate to live here; it was hard last year, but that was for everyone. I miss the European culture and feel sometimes.
