This is a superb photo for several reasons---the angle you shot, the sunlight that seems to make him squint, the faithful colors of the bronze (?), and the perfect cropping. I have visited Fredericksburg and seen the museum but missed this statue. My dad was in the Navy from 1938-1945, mostly on submarines, and my mother actually had lunch with Mrs. Nimitz in San Francisco at an officers' wives event. Thanks for sharing the story of this heroic American.

We did not go into the museum due to time, I would have loved to do so. The bronze statue of Admiral Nimitz was not by the museum entrance, more off to the east of it. If I recall there were some outdoor pieces of WWII. I have so much respect for leaders of the war and their staffs. Very impressive your Mom had lunch with Admiral Nimitz's wife. Thanks for sharing your memories.

This is so cool. The clarity is great. The angle of the shot of this statue of Adm. Nimitz is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

This shot is perfect. Your photo is interesting. The expression of the general is life like. Light and shadows emphasize the expression. Your photo has good depth and is excellent focused and exposed. The mixed media treatment is adequate. I am impressed by the sharpness of detail and the realism of light and color. The tall format is perfect because it shows us the outdoor location. The photo is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.
