good close-up of this duck and detail really good in beak/feathers would however have left a bit more room above its head and in front of beak but apart from that its a good one for the contest...Brian

Very nice and unique photo you've created here..the close up on the duck allows the viewer to see the details on the duck..the color in the face is very vibrant..it catches your eye right away..the shadowing is excellent..very nice job

A beautiful picture of this Handsome Muscovy drake with the red wattles on his beak & around his eyes..the darker wattles are on the males. They get larger as the bird ages. Beautiful composition framing and lighting that shows of the unique details of these Ducks with unusual wattles on their faces & their plumage. Taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.

I especially like the close and personal approach, because we can then see so well all the details of the red bill and area around the eye. I also think the light is falling on the duck in such a lovely way, and it is standing out from the background in an excellent way.
The focus is spot on and sharp and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in the feathers of the bird.
The square format you have cropped the photo into works well, and the duck has got a fine placement within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo Nikman, and with an excellent DOF.
