This is a beautiful remembrance for your mother. Your composition resembles your poem perfectly. The center reminds of fireworks on a dark pond. The red petals look like a raft, which is breaking apart, but they look also like a Lotus flower. The exploding center is perfect placed within the frame. The tight framing is sufficient. The mixed media is perfect composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

Bless your Heart Lucas! Thank you for your wonderful kind words. I loved this flower when I saw it and knew my mom would have loved it too. When you think of the flower as fireworks, celebration comes to mind. I thought it was a wonderful way to pay tribute to my mother.
You asked me one time if I was a writer....now you know the kind of things I write about. :o) I'm thrilled you not only enjoyed the image but poem as well.
When it comes to painting you're a poet too. The only difference between a poet and an artist is the implement they create with. A poet uses a pen to paint a picture. An artist uses a paintbrush. Fireworks in a flower! The yellow portion reminds me of the center of clematis. The red is so rich, and I like the color being repeated in the yellow portion. Your mother certainly had a strong influence on your and would surely be delighted with your talent expressed here.

Hi Browncat, Some flower centers just seem to resemble fireworks and this is one of them. This is not the only piece I did this way.I did a piece with MK Flood where his funny Flower people are right in the midst of them. I think it was back in Aug of 2019. LOL It's always fun to see where your imagination takes you. :o) You're right about this being a Clematis. I thought it was the perfect choice for the image. Hi Jirina, I think the flower was a Clematis. I love the frilly centers those flowers have. You weren't to far off with your thoughts that this resembled a Passion flower. Because Helvi is such an unusual name ( I know I never heard that name before) I thought people like yourself would wonder where it came from. Mother's Day gave me the perfect opportunity to share that information. I'm glad it piqued your interest. Thank you for the lovely review. I was truly honored to receive it. :o) Nancy
