Very nicely portrayed. I see that you got high acclaim for this painting, but I find your blending of colors on the girl's skin to be rough, or not as smooth as I would think it would be. That is the only thing that bothers me. All else is great!

Thank You very much for your kind comments! :o)
The colors at her skin are not blended because she was performing earlier and has still paint on her face and arms. [Hence my comments]. :o)

Very creative artwork. You've collected several options to play around with from your own photos to oils. Great job on your digital painting. It turned out magnificent.

I really like this photo. The shading is great. Along with the colors chosen. This is a pretty picture. I think it would look great with some more details in the back ground.

What an interesting, impressive story the artist and her family have and the person is skilled in expressive paint. Does the work include knife painting? If so, she's using a more difficult procedure--to me. However, she does well, very well.

The palette knife was indeed used, but only at the background.

I have not done much reviewing lately, but I just had to do this one. You have created such a beautiful portrait of this young Maya Girl. I especially like the bold brush strokes bringing out such fine textures, and also the color pallet with crisp and clear colors.

You have paid such good attention to details, and it is good use of high lights. Perhaps the mouth of the girl could have been better defined, but this is a minor issue.

The format and framing is perfect, and it is a fine balance between positive and negative space. I think this is a truly lovely and well done digital painting Cleo.

Your comments and the six golden stars are a special encouragement for me!
I appreciate your input. I will work on the portrait and try to refine the mouth. :o)

Hey Cleo!
I appreciate your portraiture artwork, it's amazing! The textures and colors are great and give the illusion of depth. The 3d feel to the work really makes it "pop." Beautiful work and subject Cleo!

This is amazingly realistic. This close up angle sideways on makes me feel I am there. Your balance in anatomy is well done and all looks in proportion. The background is interesting and gives a sense of the village scene. I agree, I like the paint on her arm, at first I thought it a touch of modernism in your work that was good at being different and added texture. Her hair is good too, it has the look and texture also of a Maya person. I think this is a well done piece and very enjoyable to review.

Very nice work. I like the texture you've created by the tones within the colors. You have captured her expression so well. It draws the viewer to wonder what is on her mind. Captivating piece.

A very fine painting that captures the essence of this young Maya woman very well. I am not so sure about the paint on her cheek, but your knowledge of this subject far outweighs mine and it looks good with her red shirt in any event.

She has paint on her face because she is performed in a play a few minutes ago. The red shirt is her costume. :o)
