Dog tags and rose

Your still life is intriguing. The red rose draws the attention of the viewer immediately, but the unusual combination of the items soon lead the view to the dog tags and the whistle. The limitation of color is pleasant. The photo is excellent focused and exposed, and adequately treated with mixed media. I appreciate the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The Still life is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

i didnt realize that during the korean era that the dogs tags didnt have the religion stamped on there..guess they started that during Vietnam. we were told to put one tag in your boot and wear the other..the reason for that if your blown up and they find your foot the tag will at least identify you..you dont want to be listed as MIA because your family wont receive any benefits until your proven dead. now you see why put one dogtag in your boot..wink. the setup is great. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of the dogtags, and rose on a mirror is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

I didn?t know any of this,so thanks for the information. Actually, the mark in the lower right hand corner is a ?P? which stands for Protestant. ?C? was for Catholic,?H? Hebrew, and no mark meant no preference. Thanks so much for the review!

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of those old military dog tags. The rose adds a nice contrast. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

A rather unusual collection of objects that is nicely tied together by the memories of your dad. A well composed image with very sharp detail and great colors. Good luck in the contest.
