Lights Out!

Nicely drawn and well balanced image of someone, with lips pursed, preparing to blow out the flame of this candle. Detailing,as always, is impressive, and I like that just a portion of the face is visible, illuminated by the candles flame. This definitely would have been a spectacular entry for the contest and a hard one to beat!

maybe, maybe no..ya never know..i just post and move onto the next one..this one i did to keep from boredom. my friend wanted to watch a movie that i really had no interest in..so i start on this drawing..really started out as a doodle..saw some ad where this girl blew out a candle and that gave me the idea on this..by the end of the show i was done with the drawing..maybe i should be forced to watch more boring shows...nahhhhhhhhhhh! lol..thanks for the great review.

This is super cool! I love the pointillism, and all the colors, especially how the candle glows. It looks really mysterious and it's very unique!

Love this, Mark! Very imaginative creation and very effective. Great use of colour, light and shade. Great impact with the black background. Would have been a wonderful entry for the contest but I know how you feel about blind contests. Excellent composition. Suzanne

I think this could have been a winner.... very unusual and creative. The colours have a wham bamg impact, the drawing and imagination are superbly produced. I like the effect too that this is pulled together with a dotted effect in the shades and tones. Unique !!

I cannot to the life of me figure out how you come up with this ideas for your work. The second thing is how can you position the dots on the face and cable. That would drive me crazy.

As usual, this is outstanding work.
The card stock was black already yes? The way you did the shading is incredible.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful piece of your work and sorry about the contest.

Mark,
A a beautiful atmospheric picture of the dark skinned gentleman blowing out the candle glowing in the darkness. Created by your artist's eye for composition, very skilful draftsmanship, beautiful choice blending & application of your colours in bringing this scene to like.

I love the concept of your drawing and good job of stippling! I also like how you made the candle and flame brighter and lighter colors to make them stand out in the foreground. Great job!

Going blind has no meaning absolutely..in your case. You have such a unique style and brilliance in your genre, that no one can pass you up so easily. Like in this piece. This is absolutely awesome. Cheers!

You always do such beautiful work in Sharpie and Bic Pens on Cardstock without any mistakes. Wonder if this was on black cardstock or you drew/painted that too. Nicely goes along with contest theme.

glena glena glena..you do type nice words..its sad that the rating you gave me translates good work but needs some improvement. i dont agree but that is your opinion.

I thought I gave you a "5". You deserve the best. Sometimes I have forgotten to rate, and mistakenly my rate mismatches the writing.

I apologize, great artist. And I mean that! I went back and updated the rating; it seems I had not saved the rating.
