a great close up portrait Mary of this beautiful bird that we don't have in our area; apparently she stopped laughing, trying to look serious while posing for the photographer;

Wow Mary, this is a magnificent close up image of this Kookaburra! (Could have been entered in the bird contest.) Beautiful light to show the clarity of detail of his feathers, colourings, beak and eye. Nice blurry background foliage and bokeh. Wonderful capture.

This Kookaburra portrait is excellent. The colors and markings of the plumage are interesting. Your photo is well focused and exposed and has good depth. I appreciate the sharpness of detail and the realism of color and light. The tight framing is sufficient. The bird is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

Such wonderful closeup of this bird. Great details and colors that show so nicely against diffused background.
It is not easy to capture photograph of a bird that is hiding in the trees.
Thank you for sharing.

Mary, this is exceptional! I've not seen a better Kookaburra on this site yet. we see them only at zoos and aviaries.

Perfect in color and view.

Excellent piece!! I need a trip to the land down under!!

A good looking nature image posted here! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of that handsome bird before you. Like its eye and feather detail. Colours and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well taken!

A great closeup image with excellent colors. I like the eye especially, but the detail in both the plumage and the bill are excellent. A good looking bird and a fine shot.

This is a wonderful capture Mary, this fascinating bird is well photographed with spot on focus, this image is clear, exposure on the bird is well managed, colors and tones appear natural. Well defined feathers, face and beak, nice clear eye!
The bird is well placed within the frame, the only suggestion is to remove the white spot above its head and in upper left corner.
Well composed and presented!

    Thanks Pat - will look at those white spots, tried cloning but wasn't working so left them. :)
