This is beautiful. I wonder how many miles people travelled to attend. Did they give shelter I wonder. There are many first and second generation Ukrainians on my facebook page /Fletcher Bounty/ and they amaze me with the churches their grandad and uncles built in the wilds of Canada. Doesn't the snow rot the wood? In Sheffield, everything rots from the rain, EVERYTHING.

Thank you so much! The roofs here in Alaska are made to hold a snow load, this is a very old church.

This is an excellent image Pat! Wow the colors are beautiful. Framing is perfect. The white cross on the door really shows up well against the dark wood. A beautiful piece. I love it!

This one is absolutely perfect. Love the composition of half sky and half ground on a slight diagonal forming the division of the two spaces. The two white angled lines of the church and church entry demands attention. And, I love the position of the sun combined with the position of the church that makes the viewer to look up causing inspiration. This slightly off center view of the church completes the feeling of being at peace with the wonder of life. May I add this to my collection to be an inspiration for a painting? Reasons for my six star vote.

You are welcome and thank you. I have a few other paintings to finish before I start my Alaska collection. I haven't decided on the canvas sized yet. I have been known to do a painting in forty five minutes and up to seven years. It just depends on my attention span and how long it takes me to solve some problems I set for myself for each painting.

This is a great shot! Flawless shot indeed! The rising sun is a great addition to the church image. It symbolizes hope and light. I like how the building appears as a part of nature and natural surrounding environment. The composition part is always your strength, my friend. Thanks for reminding it's a log cabin. It means the trees were transformed to something else. And hopefully many lifes are being transformed there because the church is not only the building. It maybe too much philosophy in my comment but I believe that everything has a purpose. Great achievement, great Pat!
