The moth is intriguing , it is not one that I have seen before, I appreciate your effort and see that you have entered this in a contest,
Focus is a bit soft, the background really takes away from the impact , I know sometimes it can't be helped as we can't pose living things . I hope you get another opportunity to photograph this moth .

A nice shot that someone more knowledgable about moths is sure to recognize. I suspect it might be a New Jersey Tiger Moth (Euplagia quadripunctaria). Best of luck in the contest.
