This is lovely photography with the brillant red Dahlias and dark background. The small or bulb, I suppose, jutting out to the side may or may not take away from the exceptional beauty of the flowers and the top stem and leaves do take away a little. It is beautiful as it is but I think it would be even more beautiful with just the two flowers and lovely background, at least not the top jutting up.

The Red dahlias are so pretty, I like the way they come forward from the black background.
I like the different angles of placement and the inclusion of the bud and bloom that is just opening.Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

They certainly are in my opinion,my friend! : )
The vivid Red coloration of these Dahlia blossoms looks especially nice being set against the warm black background of the picture!
