Nice capture. The Angle of the shot of these colorful flowers is great. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall.

What a beautiful photograph of theses purple flowers and bees busy pollinating them.
Great details, colors and wonderful presentation with the slightly diffused background.
Good observation, I will get more purple flowers for my garden next year.
Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Jirina - I have purple lavender, sage and salvia along with other colored flowers and the bees are always on the purple ones skimming past the others some of which are still strongly scented :)

So many thank you for a wonderful reply. This year I have bought some salvias to attract hummingbird but they go to the feeder instead. My bees love the honeysuckle. Have a great weekend.

an interesting observation I didn't notice before; but you must be sure that it is not the scent of these scabiosa flower that attract the bees... a very good capture of the two bees with one still in flight;

Thanks Fred, probably is the scent as well - there just seems to be more of them when flowers are purple shades.

It is a correct observation because in our garden as well, I find bees heading more towards purple flowers!! And there could be a scientific basis for it as well. Anyway- it's a beautiful composition you come up with in this lovely click of yours!! Kudos

A good looking nature image posted here with interesting notes too! Your fine and classical composition offers us an enjoyable view of those beautiful bees and lovely blooms. Shades and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Nicely taken!

The flowers ere gorgeous, so delicate yet colorful and detailed. The bees describes well your nice title. The mushroom like shape in the near distabce is rather nice, the background fairly nice too. Like the whole of the composition.

Meant "are gorgeous" but yes, welcome.

This stop-in-action is impressive. One of the Bees seems frozen in the air while the other clings to the Pincushion blossom. The triplet of blossoms draws the eyes and the attention of the viewers. Your photo is excellent focused and exposed and has good depth. I enjoy the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The Bees and the Pincushions are well placed within the frame. The photo is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

Thanks so much - had to look it up Scabiosa columbaria (pincushion flower) they are very pretty.

I think it might be the scent of the flowers more than the color. That is just an impression much like yours. A beautiful shot though. Very good colors and fine detail in the bee.

Your notes are interesting Mary, thinking about it, I have noticed the same think while walking through the gardens in Homer, I saw so many bees near and on the cornflowers and mountain bluets.
This is a lovely image , perfect timing to capture the bee in flight as well as the bee already on the purple flower, these flowers tell a story of their own , I don't recognize them but I love them , the purple petals surrounding the center full of buds and tiny white blooms .
Very well photographed with good focus, this image is clear, exposure is correct, colors and tones appear natural, both bees are well focused, clear and show their natural colors.
Well composed against the dreamy green tones in background. Well presented!
